Meet Farmer Charlie

Farmer Charlie is the face of our Field Days. He represents all of the hard working individuals within our regional communities. He is strong and resilient, he is hard-working and kind, he gets the job done and looks out for those around him.

Every year, Farmer Charlie takes a few days off from working the farm to come and see what we have to offer at the Newdegate Machinery Field Days. You’ll rarely find Farmer Charlie on his own, his furry best mate is never far away.

    Following its successful debut in 2023, the Young Farmers Challenge is back again this year. We're so excited that this year it's going to have a Junior category too. Definitely not to be missed!

    Making its debut at the 2024 Newdegate Machinery Field Days, the Mullet Competition will give those with some seriously luscious locks the catwalk to show them off.

  • Whitfert Fireworks Spectacular

    Every year, Whitfert helps us to bring the first day of the Field Days to a close with a bang. Count on the fireworks being spectacular again this year.

2024 brings with it a whole new look for Farmer Charlie

2013

Since Farmer Charlie made his first appearance at the Newdegate Machinery Field Days in 2013, he has grown a lot with us. He has encountered events and competitions, wandering through ten past Field Days. This year is a little different for him though as he is debuting a brand new look. The colour and detail brings Farmer Charlie to life and we know he’s going to bring that liveliness to this year’s event.

The artistic talent behind Farmer Charlie, Melissa Cugley has created exceptional artwork and illustrations for the Newdegate Machinery Field Days year after year. An immensely talented artist, Melissa has the capacity to bring ideas to life and create characters that are both fun and vibrant. Her artworks have brought joy to all those who encounter them, and we are so excited to showcase her reimagining of Farmer Charlie this year.
