On the first Wednesday and Thursday of September each year, the town of Newdegate hosts one of the states premier agricultural events, the Newdegate Machinery Field Days.

The Newdegate Machinery Field Days began in 1972 and are run by volunteer committee. Spread across the first Wednesday and Thursday in September, the Newdegate Machinery Field Days is an event that keeps our committee busy all year round and our community busy in the weeks leading up to our event. Our aim is to host a world class agricultural machinery display, which has now expanded to include livestock, family and recreational interests.

Young Farmers Challenge

Following its successful debut in 2023, the Young Farmers Challenge is back bigger and better than ever in 2027! Don’t forget there is now a Junior category too. So join us for some awesome ag challenges and see who takes out the Young Farmer and Junior Farmer challenge this year!

After its knockout debut at the 2024 Newdegate Machinery Field Days, the Mullet Competition is back! So, start preparing those seriously luscious locks for a whirl on the catwalk, and be sure to stay tuned for competition updates!

Come and see some incredible fashions from local and national designers. With wool set to again take centre stage, this year's catwalk is sure to have something for everyone on show. And….we have some exciting new appearances planned for the NMFD catwalk in 2027 - can’t wait to share them with you! Whitfert Fireworks Spectacular

Every year, Whitfert helps us to bring the first day of the Field Days to a close with a bang. Join us for the fireworks spectacular again this year, 7pm Wednesday evening, on the main oval.
